AI profiles

What is a profile

A profile bundles «provider + model + parameters». Keep several profiles for different tasks: one for code, another for writing, a third for quick questions.

Creating a profile

Sidebar → AI Profiles → «+ Create»:

  • Name — e.g. «Claude for code».
  • Provider — [OI], Anthropic, DeepSeek, Gemini, or your own [OI]-compatible API.
  • API key — encrypted, stored locally (DPAPI/safeStorage).
  • Base URL — for self-hosted or proxied endpoints.
  • Model — model name (e.g. gpt-4o, claude-sonnet-4-5, gemini-2.0-flash).
  • Temperature & max tokens — this profile's generation parameters.

Using profiles

  • Default — assign the profile picked for new chats.
  • Quick switch — the model/profile dropdown in the chat header. The chat's model takes priority over the default profile.
  • Command palette — Ctrl+K → switch profile.
